MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A man who reportedly fathered a child with a teenaged girl was arrested.

Larodney Rose, 23, of Bassett was arrested and faces a charge of fourth-degree sexual assault, according to a news release from the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office.

The release states the victim and her mother went to the sheriff's office in June 2016 to report Rose had impregnated the girl, who was 14 at the time. Rose was 21.

The victim's mother provided information from the Arkansas Health Department showing the girl's due date was January 2016 which put the alleged assault happening in April 2015.

DNA swabs were taken from the child after being born in January. Rose was swabbed in May 2016.

The Arkansas State Crime Lab tested the swabs and found Rose was the father of the victim's child based on DNA, according to the sheriff's office.

Rose was arrested on March 22, 2017 and online records indicate he has bonded out of the Mississippi County Jail.
