BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A new hotel project is now in the works after the Batesville City Council voted Tuesday to approve a resolution in support of a hotel being built in the city.
The hotel would be built on city-owned property in the Riverside Park areas of town, where a firefighter training facility was once used.
Mayor Rick Elumbaugh said earlier Tuesday that the council would be voting to let any contractors or builders know that the two acres of land could be used for the project.
Officials are hopeful that a hotel near the White River would bring in visitors.
