JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they say he fired a shot into his neighbor's apartment.
The alleged shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 700-block of North Airport Road, according to the initial incident report.
A couple told Officer Casey Moore they were doing chores around their apartment when they heard a loud bang that sounded like a gunshot.
When they went to investigate, the pair discovered two bullet holes in their bathroom.
Moore said the bullet apparently traveled through the bathroom's east wall and into the west wall, stopping before it entered the bedroom.
He then went to the apartment on the east and spoke with 55-year-old Ricky Wade Langston who said several people had just broken into his apartment, the report said.
When Moore asked Langston if he had heard a gunshot, Langston reportedly replied: "Yeah, I shot at one of them that broke into my apartment."
"The more I talked with [Langston], the more his story changed on certain details," Moore stated.
Moore placed Langston into custody, then collected a .38 caliber revolver—which Langston reportedly used—and a semi-automatic pistol from the kitchen table, and two more rifles from the back bedroom. He also collected several rounds of ammunition.
Moore arrested Langston on suspicion of aggravated assault and took him to the Craighead County Detention Center to await a probable cause hearing.
