JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The work on a construction project in the Hilltop area of Jonesboro is ready to begin, the developer said Wednesday.

According to a post on the Halsey Thrasher Harpole Facebook page, street and utility construction is being done at the Greensborough Village project.

The work on infrastructure will open up 160 of the project's 200 acres for development, officials said, noting all of the land for single family, multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality and office south of Greensboro Road will be linked to streets, utilities and drainage.

The work is expected to be done this spring and summer, weather permitting.

Also, officials said about 30 acres of the project is under contract for use while another 30 acres is in active negotiations for use.
