HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) - The Poinsett County Quorum Court plans to release funding for repairs to the county courthouse.

Poinsett County Judge Bob Cantrell said the almost 100-year-old courthouse has water damage.

Justices have agreed to give Cantrell the funds to renovate the building.

Renovations will include painting walls and replacing eroded steps.

It will take a lot of work and attention, according to Cantrell, but he is ready to get the job done.

"We want it to look like a 100-year-old facility that has been taken care of even though it is getting taken care of a little late, but we're going to take care of it," Cantrell said.

Cantrell said he want the residents of Poinsett County to be proud of their courthouse.

He hopes to have the interior renovations done by the end of the year.
