CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Someone is calling people in Craighead County, asking them to pay large amounts of money at the Craighead County Clerk's Office or pay by phone with a credit card to deal with outstanding fines and warrants, County Clerk Kade Holliday said Thursday.

Holliday said the situation is a scam and is asking people to aware of the situation.

The clerk's office does not issue warrants, collect fines, or receive money from anyone who would collect a fine.

If you receive a call, Holliday said you should immediately contact the Craighead County Sheriff's Office at (870) 933-4551.
