HAYTI, MO (KAIT) - Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway announced Friday her office has initiated an audit of the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
The audit is part of a series of audits of county hospitals, Galloway said in a news release. It will focus on financial and operating best practices.
"Missouri families often depend on county hospitals to provide critical services, especially in rural areas, and these facilities face challenges associated with funding and staffing needs," Galloway said. "My audits will review financial management and operations."
She encouraged residents with information related to these issues to contact her office anonymously through its Whistleblower Hotline by calling 1-800-347-8597 or by submitting a tip online at auditor.mo.gov/hotline.
In addition to Pemiscot County Hospital, Galloway's office is also auditing Putnam County Rural Hospital in Unionville and Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
