Inspectors to shut down parts of I-40 Mississippi River Bridge

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Travelers to and from Memphis should expect a few delays next month.

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will conduct routine inspections on the I-40 Mississippi River Bridge connecting West Memphis, AR to Memphis, TN.

The outside westbound lane will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 14.

The outside eastbound lane will be closed intermittently from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily beginning Monday, April 3, and ending Friday, April 14.

The inspection will also require outside eastbound and westbound lanes to be closed from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily on Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9.

Drivers should expect slow travel through the work zones and possible stops.
