JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Court Appointed Special Advocates hosted their first ever carnival fundraiser on Saturday.
The event included bounce houses, a chili cook-off, games and more.
"It's our springtime fundraiser, the largest fundraiser of the year," said executive director Jeremy Biggs.
He said the event has been in the works for about 3 months and they chose this theme for a special reason.
"At CASA we're all about foster children so we thought we'd move toward theming our special event for kids," he said.
Biggs said the group had a goal of raising $35,000.
"All the money will be used right here in Northeast Arkansas to advocate for children in foster care," he said. "There are over 620 children in foster care right now in the second judicial district in Northeast Arkansas.
Biggs said the group is currently serving over 300 children and they would love to serve even more this year.
