Dunklin Co. deputy injured in wreck

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - A Dunklin County deputy was taken to a hospital Monday afternoon with minor injuries after an accident in Kennett.

According to Captain Rick Groves of the Kennett Police Department, the deputy was injured after his SUV hit a car at the Independence Street/Russell Street intersection. From there, the SUV hit a traffic light pole.

The deputy, whose name was not released, went to Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center.

Groves said the deputy was the only person injured in the wreck.
