Man, teen injured after ATV hit pothole

DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - Two people were injured in an ATV crash in Dunklin County Monday.

It happened just before 5 p.m. on County Road 531 south of Highway A, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Stacy L. Rice, 40, of Senath was reportedly driving a 1995 Polaris ATV south when it hit a pothole, went off the road, and overturned.

Rice was airlifted to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, TN with serious injuries, according to MSHP.

His passenger, 14-year-old Alexis D. Johnson also of Senath, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a Kennett hospital by a private vehicle.

A trooper stated in the report that neither person was wearing a safety device.
