LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KATV) - Over half of Arkansas levees are considered unacceptable, but there is limited funding available to fix the problem.

Elmo Webb, Little Rock District U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's Levee Safety Program Manager, told KATV 53 percent of the state's levees aren't up to standard.

It's a problem that's been talked about since 2008. KATV reports it's a combination of factors that have gotten the levees to this point.
