JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Arkansas State University is investigating an alleged rape on campus.

According to the University Police Department's report, on Wednesday, March 29, Officer Keith Gilliam was dispatched to the Jonesboro Police Department around 11:34 pm to speak to a female in reference to a sexual assault that happened in the 2500-block of Aggie Road on campus.

According to the police activity log, the alleged rape happened between 8 pm and 9:22 pm Wednesday.

Arkansas State University did not release any other details.

The report shows that both the alleged victim and suspect are 19 years old.

Executive Director of Marketing at A-State Bill Smith said in an email:

As all parties were known to each other, there was no timely notice to campus.  This remains under investigation....I can confirm this did not take place in any residential housing associated with Greek programs.

Smith added that the university is considering implementing the Social Risk and Reduction Training program campus-wide. A-State required members of the university's sororities and fraternities to participate in the program earlier this year following several recent incidents.
