PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

A prosecutor says the death of an inmate found in a Paragould cemetery has been ruled an accident.

The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory said 22-year-old Christopher Daniels died of an accidental wound to the head, according to Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Robert F. Thompson, III.

Thompson said Daniels died from a head wound.

Daniels was found dead in Linwood Cemetery on March 16.

He had been operating an all-terrain vehicle inside the cemetery before he died, according to Arkansas State Police.

Paragould Police Chief Todd Stovall said the inmate work release program is on the decline, but it was before Daniels' death. He would not comment any further on the issue.

Paragould Mayor Mike Gaskill said the accident was saddening and did not have any further comment.
