At its last meeting, the Paragould City Council condemned three houses, and clean-up efforts do not stop there.

Code enforcement is working every day to crack down on offenders of the town’s clean-up ordinance.

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Residents can expect a ticket if they have trash in their yards and junk piled up.

Once a resident is approached by code enforcement, the resident must clean up their personal area, or the judge will take over.

Mayor Mike Gaskill said the crackdown is an effort to keep Paragould clean.

"The judge is supportive of what we are doing. There's a pretty substantial fine to people who are not cleaning those things up," Gaskill said. "It's not something that you want to do. You don't want to get a ticket and go to court on that because it is very expensive.
