SOUTHSIDE, AR (KAIT) -

A road in Southside is starting to see work being done, as city officials look to complete the work later this year.

Brushy Road is one of several roads in Southside being widened this year. The Independence County Road Department has already begun the prep work by putting in shoulders.

However, Southside Mayor Ray Bowman said work on an overlay project will be done later this year.

City officials are using a grant to help pay for the paving work.
