JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The annual Arkansas Roots Musical Festival showcased several local musicians Saturday.
KASU hosted the free event with the Delta Symposium at Arkansas State University.
City Water and Light Park in Jonesboro was filled with people watching the show.
"The music this year is definitely homegrown," KASU Station Manager Mike Doyle said. "We had the Vicki McGhee Three and the Natural Disasters from the local area, Sky City from right here in Jonesboro. We have a band on right now from the Ozarks."
The two organizations have been hosting the music festival for more than 20 years now.
"One of the things we do at KASU from the campus of Arkansas State is to have a program called "Arkansas Roots," which celebrates the musical heritage of Arkansas, and we have a festival named for that now, which we do every year," Doyle said.
Doyle said this was the tenth year the festival was hosted at City Water and Light Park.
They plan to continue the tradition next year.
