Authorities investigate shot fired at truck

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A man was told Tuesday morning that someone had shot his vehicle as police attempt to find the culprit, Jonesboro police said Tuesday.

Officer David Stout was getting gas at the Kum and Go on North Church Street Tuesday morning when he noticed the vehicle.

"I saw a fresh large bullet hole in the side of his vehicle and asked him who had shot his vehicle," Stout said of the man. "He was stunned and said that he had no idea that it had been shot."

Stout later checked with dispatch and found out there had been a shot fired call Sunday night, near where the man lived.

A witness then told police that someone in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck drove through the apartment complex, the report noted.

"Witness told me that the subject in the white, four-door F-150 was an unknown black male who actually attempted to rob him while he was taking out the trash," Stout said. "He stated that he saw him driving really slow and pulled up next to him and said to him, 'give me everything you got.' He showed him the trash that he was taking to the garbage can, and the guy drove off slowly."

Anyone with information on the case can call Crimestoppers at (870) 937-STOP (7867).
