Firefighters and police help save dogs from fire

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - The work of Kennett police and firefighters helped to save several dogs from a burning home Wednesday night.

According to a post on the Kennett Police Department's Facebook page, an officer noticed the fire around 11:45 p.m. at a home in the 1700-block of Vinson Street.

No one was at home but officers could hear several dogs barking, the post noted.

Officers broke a window before firefighters got there and were able to get inside to get the dogs out. The dogs, which were not injured, were put into a patrol car until the owners got home.
