PIGGOTT, AR (KAIT) - The Piggott School District is planning several additions to the school district ahead of the next school year.
The additions include new playground equipment, a new track, and other improvements.
"In January, we start trying to get our projects in line," said Superintendent Charlie Powell.
Powell says the school is always looking for ways to improve the district.
"We always look at our technology and see where we are at with that," she said. "We are adding more access points to the elementary and we've also bought some new computers for the high school."
Powell said a big hit across campus has been the addition of new playground equipment.
"The kids are very excited, even the high school kids," said Powell.
The equipment was specially chosen so that it can be used by all students.
"It's kind of like the one at the Miracle League," she said. "It's for autistic children too, there's something in there for everybody."
Powell said the equipment has ramps which make it accessible for handicapped kids.
"Really anybody in kindergarten through the sixth grade can enjoy it," she said.
The high school roof is also being re-shingled and a new track will be finished before the Fall semester.
