JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro man and a Jonesboro woman are in trouble with the law after they reportedly took money from a woman's debit card earlier this month, according to police.

Walter S. Daniels and Melissa S. Taylor were arrested Thursday after an investigation by Jonesboro police. According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim told police on April 5 that her debit card had been stolen from her house while she was in jail.

The victim told police that the debit card should have had about $6,000 as a balance but only had about $68 on it.

Police believe the debit card was used at least two dozen times on April 4 and 5. Also, police believe the pair would go to an ATM to pick up the cash before spending the money at several area businesses.

Daniels and Taylor were arrested on suspicion of theft greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000, theft of property (credit/debit card) and fraudulent use of a credit card.
