UPDATE: Stabbing suspect, victim identified

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police have identified a woman suspected of stabbing a man Monday night in North Jonesboro.

The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the 400-block of Roseclair Street.

Police say the victim, identified as 24-year-old Kenneth Dawayne Jeffers, had been stabbed in the upper left arm, left thigh, and left upper chest.

An officer attempted to apply a tourniquet to Jeffers' arm, but said he was "uncooperative." An ambulance soon arrived and took Jeffers to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Witnesses told officers that Jeffers' girlfriend, 25-year-old Christina Janeen Williams, had stabbed him.

When police went to the apartment Williams shares with Jeffers they found a bloody handprint on the bed and drops throughout the residence, the incident report said. Investigators photographed the scene and swabbed the blood for evidence.

Williams, according to the report, had already left the scene.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts or the case should call Jonesboro Crimestoppers at 870-935-STOP.
