Assault, phone theft reported at nursing home

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) -

Police arrested a woman following a reported incident at a nursing home facility.

Caruthersville police responded to Southgate Living Center on Wednesday.

Officers, according to a police news release, spoke with the victim who said she was assaulted and her cell phone was taken by a black female suspect.

A 20-year-old woman from Caruthersville was arrested after further investigation.

She was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center, pending the filing of formal charges through the city's prosecuting attorney, according to the release.

The suspect's name was not immediately released.
