Jonesboro murder suspect appears in court

Jonesboro Murder Arrest

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The man accused of shooting and killing another man over the weekend appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.

Kentrall Williams, 30, was arrested on a charge of capital murder.

In the arrest affidavit, it states that Kerry Kindred was driving around with an unidentified man when they parked in front of Kindred's home in the 700-block of Marshall Street around 12:52 a.m. Saturday, April 22.

The affidavit states eyewitnesses told police that Williams came from behind the vehicle on the driver's side of the car and began shooting.

Kindred was hit in the upper left arm and in the left upper side area.

Kindred died a short time later at an area hospital.

The affidavit states a witness positively identified Williams as the suspect from a photo lineup.

Williams was found just before 6:30 p.m. the next day at a home in the 1800-block of Cedar Heights Drive.

Williams was arrested without incident after the police department's tactical team entered the home.

In January, he was arrested with 5 other people when police found multiple guns and drugs inside a Jonesboro apartment.

He was charged with possession of drugs and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

Williams was held without bond and set his next court appearance on May 30.
