Sheriff: Students charged with taking gun to school

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Deputies arrested three students after they reportedly admitted taking a gun to school.

The Izard County Sheriff's Office received a call from Brett Stevens, school resource officer for the Izard County School District, on April 12 stating three juveniles had brought a gun to school.

Detectives learned during their investigation that the students had taken the gun to school "a week or two prior to April 12," according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Investigators did not find the gun, but the students reportedly admitted to having it on school property.

All three juveniles were charged with possession of a firearm by a minor on school property.
