O'Charley's, others fined for alcohol violations

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

During its April 19 meeting in Little Rock, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board found several Region 8 restaurants and clubs in violation of their permits, including O’Charley’s of Jonesboro.

The ABC fined the restaurant, located at 212 E. Parker Rd., $300 and placed it on 90-days probation for selling alcoholic beverages to an intoxicated patron.

O’Charley’s has until May 9 to pay the fine or its permit will be suspended.

During that same meeting, the board also submitted the following decisions:

  • Crosstown Liquors, 120 S. Division, Blytheville: Sale to minor—Warning
  • Cherrytree Food Mart, 1044 W. Chickasawba, Blytheville: Sale to minor—$350 fine/90-days probation
  • Royal 66, 4063 Hwy. 62 East, Mountain Home: Fight occurred at permitted outlet; served alcoholic beverages to intoxicated patron—$600 fine/90-days probation
  • Jordan’s Kwik Stop #22, 418 E. Kingshighway, Paragould: Sale to minor—$300 fine/90-days probation
  • Josie’s at the Lockhouse, 50 Riverbank Road, Batesville: Operator dispensing wine for off-premises consumption—Dismissed from findings of fact deduced at hearing
  • Lucky’s Market, 1001 S. Division, Blytheville: Sale to minor—$350 fine/90-days probation
  • Blytheville Exxon, 3701 S. Division, Blytheville: No timely change of manager—$100 fine/30-days probation. Given 30 days to submit acceptable change of manager application or permit placed on suspension.
  • Shell, 3702 S. Division, Blytheville: Sale to minor—$350 fine/90-days probation
  • Manila Exxon, 261 Hwy. 18 East, Manila: No timely change of manager application—$100 fine/30-days probation. Given 30 days to submit acceptable change of manager application or permit placed on suspension.
  • The Party Store, 7392 Hwy. 49 South, Paragould: Sale to minor—$300 fine/90-days probation
  • Walmart #5780, 2600 Linwood Dr., Paragould: Sale to minor—$300 fine/90-days probation
  • Kum & Go #394, 2625 W. Kingshighway, Paragould: Sale to minor—$300 fine/90-days probation
  • Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, 1195 Hometown Commons, Mountain Home: Furnished alcoholic beverages to minor; furnished alcoholic beverages to intoxicated person; furnished alcoholic beverages to intoxicated person—$1,500 fine/90-days probation
  • NEA Sports Club, 217 Olympic Dr., Jonesboro: Furnished to minors—$600 fine/90-days probation

All of the businesses found in violation have until May 9 to pay the fines or risk having their permits suspended.

In related news, ABC Director Gary “Bud” Roberts approved a new private club permit application for Club Ciao, 118 N. Pruett St. in Paragould. The decision, according to the ABC website, is conditional upon receipt of a clearance letter from the Department of Finance Administration.

Also, during the week ending Friday, April 21, a Walnut Ridge restaurant applied for new private club Class A permit. Harold T. Callahan submitted the application on behalf of the Citizen's Vault Restaurant, 209 W. Main. 

In Mississippi County, Rodney L. Robertson applied for a new restaurant beer & wine on premises only permit for The Salty Steer Steakhouse, 405 N. Main in Leachville. 

Rachel Wright submitted two change of manager applications for Manila Exxon, 261 Hwy. 18 East, and Osceola Exxon, 900 West Keiser, for each of the businesses' retail beer off premises and small farm winery-retail permits.
