Burglary suspect left behind glasses, spent shell casing

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A suspected burglar might have trouble seeing after police say they found a pair of eyeglasses at the scene.

Sometime between Friday and Sunday, someone kicked in the back doors of several businesses located at 2201 Caraway Road.

According to the incident report, the culprit got away with a cellphone and a loaded Taurus .38 special.

The subject also left behind a few items.

While investigating, Officer Victoria Evans reported finding a counterfeit $10 bill on the floor and a pair of eyeglasses.

Evans also found where the suspect fired the gun into a wooden table leg near an office door. The shell then bounced onto the floor. One of the victims picked it up thinking it was a piece of candy before realizing what it was and giving it to the officer.

Evans logged the shell and the other evidence for processing.

The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
