Sheriff: Convicted felon chased woman with gun, threatened to kill her

MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) -

Deputies arrested a man after he reportedly chased several family members with a gun and threatened to kill them.

Tuesday night Baxter County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun on Highway 62, east of Mountain Home.

When deputies arrived, the encountered one of the victims running down the road toward them. The victim said the suspect, 25-year-old Chad Allen McDaniel, had a pistol and threatened to kill her and another family member.

Deputies searched the area and found McDaniel hiding behind a shed at the back of the property. They also found a loaded Sig Sauer .380 pistol, Sheriff John Montgomery said in a statement Wednesday.

McDaniel was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was charged with domestic battery, terrorist threatening, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a defaced firearm.

He’s being held on a $20,000 bond awaiting an April 27 court appearance.
