JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The man accused of robbing a Walgreens at gunpoint appeared in court Thursday.
Andre Thomas Brown, 20, of Jonesboro is charged with aggravated robbery, and theft of less than $1,000, a class D felony.
A judge set his bond at $250,000 cash or surety.
According to the initial incident report, the holdup happened just before 8:30 p.m. at the Walgreens located at 108 E. Highland Dr.
Surveillance video showed the suspect enter the store and walk around for a few minutes, waiting for all of the customers to leave, then walked over to the cashier and spoke with them for a couple of minutes.
"Then you can see the suspect pull out a black handgun and point it at the cashier," the report said. "Then you can see the cashier give the suspect the money from the cash drawer."
After getting the cash, the suspect ran out of the store.
Another employee, with more experience working the camera system, backed the video up to where the suspect walked into the store. The video showed the suspect walked across Highland Drive from the direction of McDonald's.
Officers went to McDonald's to see if the business had video of the suspect. While there, they checked the men's bathroom and found some discarded wet clothes.
The restaurant's security video showed the suspect, wearing the discarded clothes, enter the business just before 6 p.m. and go into the men's room. He then came out wearing the same clothes he wore in the robbery. After speaking with two employees, the suspect got a drink and sat down.
According to the incident report, the man stayed at McDonald's until 8:15 p.m. when he went across the street to Walgreens.
While logging the clothing evidence, a manager from Harp's called to say they had found some discarded clothes in their bathroom. According to the incident report, it appeared to be the same clothing the suspect wore during the robbery.
A short time later Dispatch received a call from Andre Brown saying he had robbed Walgreens and wanted to turn himself in, the report said. He said he was waiting at the McDonald's on Red Wolf Boulevard.
Officers responded to the restaurant where they found Brown and recovered most of the cash taken in the robbery.
Brown is due back in court on June 27.
