Woman seriously injured after truck overturned

HOWELL COUNTY, MO (KAIT) -

A Missouri woman is recovering after she was reportedly hit by an SUV while driving her truck.

Lee Ann Wheeler, 49, of Pomona was seriously injured in the crash, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

It happened in Howell County at the intersection of Highway 63 and Missouri Route N around 4 p.m. Thursday.

According to MSHP, Wheeler's 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was headed north when it was struck by a 2004 Jeep Cherokee heading east.

The truck overturned and came to rest in the median.

Wheeler was taken by ambulance to a West Plains hospital.

The driver of the SUV, Christopher Austin of Willow Springs, was not injured.

According to MSHP, both drivers were wearing seat belts.
