Pocahontas Chamber of Commerce sees business growth

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - The Pocahontas Chamber of Commerce is seeing an increase in businesses growth.

According to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tim Scott, he's never seen this much growth.

"I can count at least a dozen new businesses in Pocahontas and Randolph County in the last four months," said Scott.

Scott says the addition of new businesses like Harps has peaked the interest of other businesses looking at the town.

"There are even more businesses calling us instead of us initiating the call," he said. "They are calling us at least inquiring about what is going on and why Pocahontas is in this growth mode."

Scott credits the growth largely to the addition of Peco.

He said the businesses that have moved to the area include a new medical clinic, Integrity Investment, and an auto body shop.

Scott said he expects the growth trend to continue for the remainder of 2017.
