JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A new study shows Jonesboro ranks as one of the top cities for working parents.
According to a news release from Bill Campbell, director of communications for the city of Jonesboro, SmartAsset.com conducted the study.
They found Jonesboro ranks seventh in the nation and is the top in the state for best cities for working parents.
The website said Jonesboro parents see several benefits including lower unemployment rates, a stronger economy, openings in key industries like healthcare and education, and shorter commute times to work.
Campbell also noted Jonesboro has been ranked recently as the fifth in the nation for the best places to retire, first for a successful 2017, the second best city in the state to find a job, and in the top 50 places in the U. S. to build a forever dream home.
"Thanks to its hard-working and generous citizens, Jonesboro is taking off," Mayor Harold Perrin said. "We're stacking up well with other cities around the country."
