Basic Custard

2 Eggs
1/4 C Sugar
2 C Low-fat Milk
1/2 t Vanilla

Baked Version:
Beat together egg and sugar in a baking dish.
Add milk and flavorings. Mix thoroughly. You can pour mixture into 4 5oz. individual custard cups or in a medium baking dish. Set baking dish in shallow pan of hot water.
Bake at 350 degrees until a knife comes out clean when it is inserted in the center (50-60 Min.).
Serve warm or chilled.

Stove top Version:
Beat egg and sugar together in medium saucepan.
Add milk.
Put 2 inches boiling water in a larger pan. Place saucepan with egg/milk mixture in the larger pan with water. Put larger pan over medium heat. Stir custard constantly while cooking. Cook until foam disappears and custard coats a spoon. Remove from heat. Add flavoring and stir. Pour into individual dishes and cool in the refrigerator. Custard will be soft.
