Jonesboro Man Steals Around 30 Lawn Mowers

July 19, 2005--Posted at 9:40 p.m. CST

JONESBORO--A rash of lawnmower thefts in Jonesboro has landed a local man in jail.  34-year-old Jessie Fowler was arrested Thursday, July 14.  He is now accused with stealing about 30 pieces of lawn equipment.

Fowler’s sister turned him in after he brought home a lawnmower and weed eater to her home.  She told police Fowler didn’t have a job, and that she thought the equipment was stolen, and through an investigation, police found Fowler was stealing lawn equipment and selling it for profit.

Police say if you’ve recently purchased a piece of lawn equipment at a cheap price, you may have purchased stolen goods.  If that’s the case, police urge you to call them and report it.  The number to call is (870) 935-5553.
