LITTLE ROCK, AR - The two Democrats who comprise the Arkansas delegation in the U.S. Senate say President Bush's Supreme Court nominee John Roberts should get an attentive hearing, but they are far from throwing their support to the appellate judge. Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln each said the next justice should not use the seat to pursue political ends.
Meanwhile, the Little Rock-based Family Council Action Committee is working to generate support for Roberts. Jerry Cox, the group's founder, says the organization plans to reach the more than 10,000 Arkansas households that make up its constituency to help rally support for Bush's nominee.
