Jonesboro, AR--After several days of intense heat, Region 8 is finally cooling down to temperatures below the average for the year. On Wednesday, most of the region saw highs struggle to hit 85, and dew points plunged to under seventy degrees for the first time in weeks.
The change in the atmosphere made it feel a little better for workers braving the heat. One local electrician said homes being built could see temperatures more than twenty degrees hotter than the temperature outside. He also added they had recently sent one of their workers home due to excessive heat exhaustion, brought on by the extreme temperatures.
