CAPE GIRAREDAU, MO - Heat is suspected in the deaths of an elderly Cape Girardeau woman and her disabled son whose bodies were found in an non-air conditioned home with its windows shut.
A family friend discovered the bodies of Glenda Rogers, who was in her 80s, and her 63-year-old son Clarence yesterday after she couldn't reach them by phone and went to their home.
Police say they appeared to have died several days earlier.
An autopsy is being done today.
The family friend who found the bodies said Glenda Rogers kept her windows closed to protect her son from anything that might irritate his asthma.
