Los Angeles, (AP)_ An independent counsel has been looking into an alleged affair between "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul and a former contestant.
The show's producers and Fox TV hired the counsel to investigate allegations made by Corey Clark, a contestant on season two.
Clark says he had an affair with Abdul while he was on the show. He says she advised him on his singing and appearance.
Fox Entertainment President Peter Liguori says Abdul, Clark and "corroborating witnesses" have been questioned.
He says the results of the probe are due soon and will be made public.
Liguori refused to say if Abdul would be fired if Clark's claims were found to be true. Abdul has denied the allegations.
