Juvenile arrested for robbing store at knife-point

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A juvenile was arrested last week accused of robbing a store using a knife.

The incident happened on Oct. 25 at the Days General Store, according to Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley with the Izard County Sheriff's Department.

An employee reported that a male suspect came into the store wearing a brown jacket, a camouflage scarf over his mouth and nose, and was carrying a knife.

The suspect demanded the employee give him money and her cell phone.

At first, the woman thought it was a joke but soon realized it wasn't and gave him all the money in the register as well as her phone.

The suspect then asked the woman to come from behind the counter and stand halfway to the front door. He ran out the door and drove away in goldish-color Dodge Neon with no license plate.

Blackley stated Deputy Toby Smith later located the car on Pine Tree Lane.

A juvenile was positively identified as the suspect and charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property.

The suspect's name was not released.
