JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

With recent shootings in Texas and California, one business is now preparing children for how to deal with active shooters.

Logan Lee, the owner of Lee's Karate Inc., said with the recent string of shootings, kids need to be prepared when dealing with an active shooter situation.

According to Lee, going with natural instinct is not always the best decision.

Lee trains children on a PG level that they understand, and said he hopes his training helps kids be more prepared.

"We don't want to scare them," Lee said. "We want to do it in a way that's not scary, very educational and very practical and that way they know how to deal with an intruder, how to lock them out, lock themselves in or more importantly know how to defend themselves if that time comes."

Lee added that starting in January, he plans to offer free active shooter training courses for local public schools.

Anyone interested in active shooter training for their kids or any schools interested in working with Lee's Karate Inc. can contact their office at 870-761-0861.
