Little Rock (KAIT/FOX 16) - A federal judge denied the request for a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit filed by retail liquor stores against grocery store wine sales.

According to a report, the lawsuit attempted to block a state law taking effect on Thursday that would allow permitted grocery stores to sell all types of wine, not just state created or small batch wines.

The judge also reportedly dismissed liquor store claims that differences between grocery stores and liquor store regulations were unfair.

The judge sent the case back to the Pulaski County District Court, where the lawsuit was originally filed.

According to Robin Casteel, Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Director, the board will meet on pending applications on Wednesday.
