JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police issued two citations to a resident after a victim claimed his dogs were attacked by another dog while he went for a walk.

According to a police incident report, it happened in the 3100-block of Springwood Dr. on Nov. 11.

The report states a loose dog ran out of an open gate, crossed the street and "bit one of the victim's dogs in the middle of the back."

The attacking dog then "picked up another of the victim's dogs but he was able to hit the attacking dog on the head, eventually get the dog free."

The bite required several stitches and the owner of the attacking dog, Kenneth Gene Renshaw, reportedly paid the vet bill.

Renshaw later admitted to police he had left his gate open and saw the incident.

Police cited Renshaw for dog at large and for harboring a dangerous animal.

Renshaw surrendered his dog to Jonesboro Animal Control.
