WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - Duck hunters are not the only people excited for this weekend, officials at the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport are excited as well as they gear up for another hunting season.

Stacy Hoggard, airport manager, said in the past they've seen 20 to 30 jets fill their airport at one time. Those jets range from corporate jets and hunters getting together to head to the duck blind or deer woods.

The airport makes $1 per gallon of fuel. Sometimes they fill up tanks that are 180 to 300 gallons.

Hoggard said it is an economic boost for the airport.

"We make our money off our fuel sales, off land rentals, and agriculture rentals," Hoggard said. "This is an old military war base, so we like to keep it going and we live to be self-sufficient."

Hoggard said as the hunting season progresses and you need an airport, you can reach them online or contact them at 870-886-5432.
