Jonesboro, AR -- Lauren Payne Reports

3 Day Job Fair For New Target Store Attracting Hundreds

August, 12, 2005 -- Posted at 1:00 p.m. CST

JONESBORO -- There's no question the Mall at Turtle Creek is creating a huge economic boost for this area.

Target's 3-day mass hire is just one example, as they look to fill over 200 available positions.

Target store managers, here in Jonesboro, are searching for the perfect people to fill more than 200 available positions, during their 3-day mass hire at the Fowler Center at ASU.

"At Target, we believe in giving great customer service and trying to take care of our guest when they come into the store. The first thing we are trying to find is someone who is friendly, energetic, and outgoing," said manager, Richard McLeod.

Signs are already hanging on the front as the much anticipated grand opening date, targeted for October 9th, quickly approaches.

There are more than 200 positions available, doing everything from stocking the shelves, to filling the coffee cups.

"Cashiers, sales floor team members, replenishment team members, Starbucks workers, food avenue team members. We're trying to fill all of the positions we will use in the store," said McLeod.

The excitement about the store's grand opening is drawing a huge crowd.

Lisa Nickerson is looking forward to seeing everything Target has to offer.

"I am excited, because I have never been to Target, and everybody says it's a good store.  I can't wait until it opens. I can't wait until the whole thing opens," said Nickerson.

McLeod expects to see between seven hundred and nine hundred people over the three day job fair.

The job fair will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
