LOS ANGELES (KCAL/KCBS) - In a sea of photographers and reporters on last night's Golden Globes red carpet, one young girl stood out from the crowd.

Francine Gascon is currently battling leukemia, but she had the thrill of a lifetime as she donned press credentials and a camera to photograph Hollywood's biggest celebrities.

It was all made possible by the Pablove Foundation.  Its Shutterbug program teaches kids with cancer to develop their own creative voice through photography.

Gascon took those skills to the red carpet, where she got to personally meet big names like Steven Spielberg and Denzel Washington.

"I actually was surprised when they actually came up to me, but it was really funny because in the end I really got to meet some of the people," Francine said. "And I never thought that would ever happen in my life - that would only happen once in a lifetime. So I'm happy that my dream came true."

Francine said he favorite celebrity sighting of the night was the cast of "Stranger Things," one of her favorite shows.

Pete Recchia has end-stage renal disease. Basically, he was born with one kidney and it's failing. He's been on a transplant list for two-years and been going to dialysis in Livingston for just as long, three times a week, four hours at a time. All along, a little boy has been watching.
