(KAIT/NBC) -

While many want to lose weight in 2018, doctors say you may want to make another resolution first.

In a report by NBCDFW, Dr. Hujefa Vora said health screenings are the first things you should prioritize in the new year.

Dr. Vora said an annual exam can help identify any health problems you may be experiencing.

By finding out how your body is doing first, Dr. Vora said they can better prepare you for what kind of program to do when trying to lose weight.
