Report: Victim describes shooting Friday

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police continued their search Saturday for a suspect in connection with a shooting Friday night in north Jonesboro.

According to a police report, officers went to the apartment in the 1300 block of North Floyd Street around 8:45 p.m. after getting a call from the victim.

"(Victim #1) stated that he heard a knock on the door and when he opened the door, he was immediately shot," Officer Paige Sharp said. "He stated he then closed and locked the door and ran to the bathroom and called 911."

The victim, who was shot in the chest, was taken to a local hospital for surgery.

The report noted that the victim described the suspect as a young black male wearing a black hoody and possibly black pants.
