New York (AP)_ Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas is ready to hit the road alone. Thomas will kick off his solo tour October fifth in Albany, New York. Tickets will go on sale exclusively through www.VH1.com on Thursday, with a general sale two days later.
Thomas has not chosen a name for the tour. He was toying with the idea of making it an outrageously long name, which would be in keeping with Matchbox Twenty tradition. He says they liked to give names to their tours that had nothing to do with them, like the "Stole My Baby Tour."
Thomas says his solo tour does not mean Matchbox Twenty is over. He says he still talks to the rest of the band and it's just a matter of when they'll get back together.
