Man armed with knife arrested near Park Hill High School

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Kansas City police responded to Park Hill High School on Wednesday morning after a man with a weapon was reported on or near the campus.

The incident began at 9:15 a.m. when someone from the school called the police.

Officials put the school on a hold, barring anyone from entering or exiting the building, and nearby Renner Elementary School was put on lockdown.

When officers arrived, a man armed with a knife was taken into custody in the 7400 block of NW 78th Street.

No injuries were reported.

Both schools have resumed normal operation.
