Report: Lithium-ion batteries to blame for another airplane fire

(KAIT) - Lithium-ion batteries have been a source of concern for airlines, and a recent fire aboard a China Southern Airlines flight has brought the dangers back to the forefront.

The International Business Times reported passengers on a China Southern Airlines flight were forced to get off the plane after a bag in the overhead compartment caught fire Sunday.

And while the power bank wasn't in use at the time of the fire, it has safety experts once again questioning how safe lithium-ion batteries are on planes.
